‘Not really been thinking’: Chris Wilder makes comment about Nottingham Forest

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder said before last night’s game that he’s not concerning himself with the situation at Nottingham Forest.

The boss was speaking to Sky Sports – and given his side were battered 6-0 by Arsenal, it’s probably for the best he’s not focused on other teams.

Ahead of last night’s contest, what exactly did Wilder have to say about Forest? Let’s take a closer look…

What Chris Wilder said about Nottingham Forest financial situation

Given the uncertainty surrounding Forest and Everton, it’s a hot topic in the Premier League right now.

This week comes the hearing for Forest’s defence; perhaps, renowned sports attorney Nick De Marco can emerge victorious.

This is a huge blow for many clubs, and Sheffield United needs all the support they can get to survive.

Nevertheless, despite being questioned about Forest last night, Wilder is only worried about the Blades.

“Your job as a professional footballer is to go right to the end,” he said to Sky Sports. As a manager, it is my responsibility to see that my staff completes the task at hand.

We shall so continue till the last whistle and the last day, no matter what. We haven’t been good enough this season, so we need to give our fans something to cheer about.

“I haven’t given Everton and Forest much thought, especially an hour and a half before facing a team as good and prestigious as Arsenal.”

Forest must focus on football themselves

The team is unable to lose focus even if it appears as though Forest would soon lose points.

Nuno Espirito Santo needs a focused locker room, and maybe in the upcoming weeks, the Reds can begin to win some games.

Now that they have a run of games where they hope to gain some ground, Forest faces tougher opponents this weekend at Brighton.

Wilder was questioned about Forest, and it’s certainly a legitimate subject to talk about because more points lost by the Reds and Everton may provide them with a lifeline.

But Forest needs to stay focused on the game, and maybe a string of wins will lessen the blow of perhaps going down this season.
