Mark Clattenburg brutally trolled for ‘interesting’ Paul Tierney request after Liverpool winner

BBC pundit Garth Crooks has brutally trolled Mark Clattenburg in the wake of Liverpool’s controversial Premier League win over Nottingham Forest

Mark Clattenburg has come under fire from BBC analyst Garth Crooks in the wake of Liverpool’s contentious 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Darwin Nunez gave the Premier League leaders the lead in the 99th minute on Saturday, sending the away fans into oblivion. However, after referee Paul Tierney halted play due to what seemed to be a head injury to Ibrahima Konate, the home crowd became irate.

Even though Forest had the ball close to the Liverpool penalty area, Tierney brought play back by passing it to visiting goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who then initiated the move that resulted in the game-winning goal. “We’ll be speaking with the PGMOL and the Premier League and we’ll discuss the correct course of action in the near future,” stated Clattenburg, who is currently an advisor for Forest, following the game.

“The owner’s quite upset because he has invested a lot of money in the football club and he wants to see results. He feels that another decision has gone against the club and quite rightly he’s upset,” Clattenburg continued, alleging that Tierney had denied him entrance to the referee’s room.

“I think everyone is and sad that they have lost in this way and hopefully their luck will change in the future.”

However, Crooks was not pleased with that. When choosing his BBC Team of the Week, the former Tottenham Hotspur striker stated, “The referee made a mistake, but once the ball was back in play it was incumbent on Forest to defend their goal regardless of the referee’s decision.” “They failed to remove the threat despite multiple chances.

“Mark Clattenburg, a former official who is currently a Nottingham Forest analyst, made an intriguing request to see the referee following the game. What was he going to compare mistakes made in his career?
