‘Is this real life?’: Micah Richards baffled at what Nottingham Forest have done

Micah Richards has now been left baffled at something else which Nottingham Forest have done.

The pundit has been speaking on this week’s edition of The Rest is Football podcast.

So, what has Richards said about Forest now? Let’s take a closer look at his latest comments…

What Nottingham Forest have done to leave Micah Richards baffled

You won’t be surprised to learn that this has to do with Forest hiring Mark Clattenburg to be a referee analyst.

Richards has been talking about the events that happened on Saturday during Forest’s 1-0 loss to Liverpool involving referee Paul Tierney.

Mark Clattenburg was hired to his new position by Forest last month, and he will supply the team with referee reports and education.

Richards, on the other hand, doesn’t comprehend it and mocks Forest’s choice.

Is this real life? he asked the podcast The Rest is Football. Is that a football? Does the game have a future like this? He works for them as a consultant. He thus complains and goes to PGMOL.

What, though, do they seek? A sincere regret? How come? I’m not sure I get it. Since he is skilled at his work, I can see why they hired him. However, I fail to see the main purpose of it.

Forest appointing Clattenburg isn’t doing any favours just yet

Even though Richards disagrees, we totally understand why Forest appointed Clattenburg and this is a frequent occurrence in Europe.

It appears, unfortunately, that Forest has been the victim of some utter stinkers in the last few weeks.

Although the Reds should have done a better job clearing their lines the previous weekend, Paul Tierney ultimately denied Forest the opportunity to score a goal of their own.

According to Stephen Warnock, Forest should put Clattenburg’s name on the team sheet so he can address the referee if necessary.

He makes a valid point with that evaluation, and maybe Forest could adjust the 48-year-old’s job accordingly.

Right now, Forest can only concentrate on the game, but you get the impression that Richards would applaud Manchester City’s appointment of a referee analyst as a ground-breaking move.
