Another of Brendan Rodgers’ squad options is set for an exit from Parkhead after Liel Abada, despite Celtic’s transfer window slamming shut at the start of last month.

Not every league closes its doors, and according to reports, Hoops attacker Abada is getting closer to leaving Glasgow permanently. The Israel international is reportedly close to joining Charlotte FC of Major League Soccer (MLS) after the Scottish powerhouses accepted a bid beyond £8 million, according to a recent report from Football Insider.
According to the site, the player’s unhappiness in Scotland stems from “major personal” concerns related to the violence in his native country, which have now resulted in an imminent relocation to the United States.
Compared to the £3 million they paid to sign him under Ange Postecoglou in the summer of 2021, it represents a significant profit. Thus, even though this is not how the club had envisioned his tenure at Parkhead to finish, they could still view the agreement as a success.

Postecoglou gave him six starts in the top division last season, but he failed to demonstrate the necessary strength or quality to be a major contributor for the Hoops.
