“Not good,” Ally McCoist says in real time on talkSPORT about the Rangers and Celtics championship results.

Following their losses to Motherwell and Hearts, respectively, Ally McCoist has expressed his opinion that neither Rangers nor Celtic will feel at home at the top of the SPFL this season.

Even though both teams have had disappointing seasons, the Rangers legend claimed that the uncertainty at the top will create for a more exciting title fight.

This follows the defeats of both Old Firm teams over the weekend, which were clouded by disputes about officiating calls.

McCoist said, “Before we start getting carried away, I was at Ibrox on Saturday, and we were not good,” during a live broadcast on talkSPORT on March 4 at 06:04.

“Again, there was a lot of controversy about VAR, penalties, handbells, sending offs, and other issues in both games, especially Celtic versus Hearts. Never a boring time.

“But pay attention, I’ll give you the gospel truth. Based on their performance over the weekend, it appears that neither of them will feel at ease in the leadership role. I considered them both to be subpar.

But occasionally, when there are equal opportunities for all, you do get some legitimate excitement, and this one appears to be going right down to the wire.

Which team will win the SPFL this season—Rangers or Celtic?

It appeared to everyone that Celtic would make their advantage count with a win against Hearts to move them back to the top of the table after Rangers dropped points in a disappointing manner with a loss to Motherwell at Ibrox.

Although Philippe Clement’s team managed to maintain first position despite a 2-0 loss to Hearts, their performance against the team was far from overwhelming, and the weekend will now seem like a wasted chance for both clubs.

Given that both teams have been remarkably uneven and have dropped some shocking points so far this season, it looks as though whichever team can string together a string of victories will win the championship.

As the fury at Rangers’ performance grew after their weekend loss to Motherwell, McCoist was especially critical of two Rangers players. However, fans at Ibrox were offered some relief when Celtic also dropped points.
