Joe Thomas shares if 777-Premier League meeting will lead to Everton takeover decision

The planned face-to-face meeting between 777 Partners and the Premier League this week is unlikely to provide an immediate decision over the proposed takeover of Everton, according to Liverpool Echo.

As the possible acquisition has delayed over the past few months, the meeting is anticipated to serve as a forum to resolve any outstanding difficulties at Goodison Park.

If the acquisition proposal clears Financial Conduct Authority inspection before Christmas, the Premier League is thought to be the last obstacle to be surmounted.

“The face-to-face meeting planned for this week is not expected to yield an immediate decision but is instead being viewed as an opportunity to explore the issues currently holding a decision back,” wrote Joe Thomas in an article for the newspaper’s website.

Given that they have been waiting six months for confirmation, it makes sense that Toffees supporters have grown more and more concerned about a possible takeover of their team.

Despite a number of setbacks since the original proposal, the company has continued to invest up to £200 million in the club and has maintained a noticeable presence at Goodison Park.

Josh Wander, co-founder of 777 Partners, watched Everton’s 3-1 loss to West Ham United on Saturday, March 2, as Sean Dyche’s team was sent to their eighth straight game without a victory across all competitions.

The uncertainty surrounding the takeover lingers at Goodison Park, despite the fact that the Toffees have already surmounted a significant FFP obstacle in the last week, as their 10-point deduction for a Profit and Sustainability violation was lowered to six points. Not to be forgotten, they are also awaiting word on the fate of a second PSR charge.

Supporters will be hoping that the scheduled meeting would clear up any lingering doubts on the proposal, as the Toffees get increasingly worried as the days go by with no word on the matter.

Everyone concerned is in a terrible predicament, and it needs to be resolved right away.
