Hugh Keevins, a veteran sports journalist, has put his support behind Brendan Rodgers and agreed with the Celtic manager’s critical post-match comments.

On Clyde 1 Super Scoreboard, Keevins said that Rodgers, who may face a touchline ban for his comments, should not be punished for expressing his concerns about officiating during the match.

Keevins referred to Tynecastle’s refereeing as a “masterclass in inefficient refereeing,” agreeing with Rogers that the officials’ performance was “incompetence.”

According to Keevins, Tynecastle exemplified inefficient refereeing. Brendan Rogers was correct to call it out; there should be no attempt to punish the man for expressing the truth. It’s becoming an increasing concern in our game. “He said the officials were incompetent, and he’s right.”

Celtic have expressed issues with the SFA over the officiating in the capital, as they await the verdict of Yang’s appeal, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
