‘Farce’: King slams ‘Weak’ Premier League after what happened at Everton

Everton being handed a six-point deduction instead of 10 has made a mockery of the Premier League.

Former Toffees scout Bryan King expressed this opinion after the team’s original punishment was lowered by four points.

The Goodison Park team received punished for financial infractions earlier in the season, and later in the campaign, an additional charge was applied.

“I think the Premier League has looked a bit weak ever since it started, certainly this season,” King stated in an interview with Goodison News.

“VAR’s introduction has been a farce, and now that the first club has been charged—which appeared to be going to be a tough approach—they have suddenly changed their minds and reduced the 10 points to six, even though everyone knew that there could have been more than 10 points for what had happened.

“Who is the committee member sitting on? These choices are being made by whom? A fair play rule is either in existence or it isn’t. Since it actually begins to create a joke out of it.

Did the Everton appeal process make the Premier League look weak?

Both on and off the pitch, the Premier League and the blue half of Merseyside have not gotten along well in recent years.

With regard to the former, the Toffees are presently involved in yet another relegation battle. They have been having difficulty at the lower end of the table for some time.

Although they have consistently survived in the competition, current off-field issues may force them to slip to the Championship.
