Everton manager Sean Dyche will be “desperate” for a win against Manchester United following the Toffees’ defeat to West Ham United, according to Alan Pardew.
Dyche’s team lost 3-1 at Goodison Park to David Moyes’ Hammers on Saturday, March 2, extending their winless streak in the Premier League to 10 games. They also gave up two goals in stoppage time.
With a potential two-point deduction looming after the loss, the Toffees are five points above the relegation zone. Pardew believes Dyche will exert every effort to return to winning ways against Manchester United.
“Everton have gone on a run, where they are desperate for a win now and they go to Manchester United,” he stated in a speech on talkSPORT on Sunday, March 3, 20:25. What a game that will take place the following weekend.
“Two managers who are desperate for a win.”
Will Everton get a second point deduction and be relegated this season?
The defeat on Merseyside on Saturday would have left supporters bitter after a fantastic week at Goodison Park that saw Everton leap out of the relegation zone owing to their appeal against their 10-point deduction.
The Toffees gave up two goals in the closing minutes and wasted what could have been a crucial point in their struggle to avoid relegation. They didn’t deserve to lose, but once again, they disappointed themselves.
Dyche will be under increasing pressure from his supporters and superiors at Goodison Park, not from his job. The Englishman needs to win, but it won’t be easy against Manchester United at Old Trafford, given how desperate they are as well.
Against the Red Devils, hopefully, Everton can end this awful run of form. The Toffees will undoubtedly have a chance to pull off a shock because Erik ten Hag’s team has also been playing well in recent weeks.
