Gary Lineker has said Everton “can’t finish their dinner“ after they missed a host of chances against West Ham on Saturday.
Even though striker Beto gave the Toffees the lead in minute 56 of the match, they lost 3-1 to the Hammers at Goodison Park.
They have lost their last seven matches across all competitions and their last six Premier League fixtures.
“You’ve got to win games,” their manager Sean Dyche stated following the game on Match of the Day (March 2). That is, without a doubt, my obligation. It’s strange how we haven’t won in our recent streak of games.
“It was one of those games where you watch it and think, ‘it’s not going in for them,'” pundit Jermaine Jenas continued.
“Without Alphonse Areola in goal, it could have been so different,” Lineker retorted. They are unable to complete their meal!

Everton is trying to gain more ground in their struggle for survival, but they are lacking that cutting edge up front.
They lack the danger of a potent forward up top with Dominic Calvert-Lewin having only hit the net three times and Beto having only scored twice in the league since his summer transfer from Udinese.
With 55% of the ball and 11 shots on goal against West Ham, the Toffees didn’t play poorly. But they faced a very good custodian in Alphonse Areola of the Hammers.
Only Burnley and Sheffield United, who are now in the bottom two spots in the league, have scored fewer goals than Dyche’s team, which speaks volumes about their primary problem this season. The team has scored 29 goals in their first 27 games.
They must have attacking reinforcements on their summer schedule this year. They are now five points above the drop zone, therefore their priority in the meantime is to avoid being demoted to the Championship.
