Oscar Cortes sustains a “longer-term” injury for which surgery may be necessary.
According to manager Philippe Clement, Oscar Cortes of the Rangers has sustained a “serious” injury that would necessitate surgery.
The 20-year-old, who is now on loan from Lens with a buyout option, was hurt midweek against Kilmarnock.
Clement said Rangers TV, “Oscar has a serious injury and will be a longer time out.”
“We have also been in contact with Lens, as it is not just a decision for us, so that’s a blow for him, the team and all of us.”
“It is a really strange one with the action that he did to have a severe injury like that,” Clement continued prior to Rangers’ home game against Motherwell. “We need to look at that in the next couple of days what to do with it – operation or not.”
“It is frustrating because we want to build further with him as he was doing good things.”
