Rangers predicted XI vs Motherwell: 26-year-old replaces Oscar Cortes.
Rangers’ schedule doesn’t stop playing as they get ready for their third straight week against Motherwell.
With the Steelmen in town this afternoon, the Gers, who have not lost in eleven games [FotMob] since the end of the winter break, will need to make some stops at Ibrox.
Following Saturday’s 5-0 thumping of Hearts in Govan, Philippe Clement made three changes to his team for the uncertain midweek trip to Kilmarnock.
The Belgian was badly hurt by the changes, especially starting Borna Barisic instead of Ridvan Yilmaz, and Rangers were behind 1-0 at the half in Ayrshire.
However, Rangers’ fortunes were turned around by the arrival of Dujon Sterling and the subsequent introduction of Cyriel Dessers and Yilmaz, and a thrilling 2-1 victory was ultimately achieved.
What changes will Clement make to his starting lineup against Motherwell this afternoon? He enjoys making small adjustments. This is our Rangers starting lineup for the Scottish Premiership meeting today.
Scott Wright for Oscar Cortes
Oscar Cortes has been one of Rangers’ best players lately, but on Wednesday night at Rugby Park, his development was cruelly cut short.
Due to a hamstring injury, the Colombian winger had to leave the game in the second half.Cortes was replaced by Scott Wright, and it’s very likely that the former Aberdeen player will get the start this afternoon.
Dessers is expected to return to the starting lineup in such situations following Fabio Silva’s lackluster solo performance against Kilmarnock. We also anticipate that Clement will name Yilmaz right away.
Midweek match winner Tom Lawrence did receive treatment on the field during the second half. We think the Welshman will start the Motherwell match on the bench.
