Nottingham Forest update is the ‘most damaging in Premier League history’ – Wyness

Nottingham Forest upgrade is the ‘most destructive in Premier League history’ says Wyness.

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness says it is ‘terrible’ that Nottingham Forest may not know the final result of their PSR case until after the conclusion of the season.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – questioned why the Premier League have set ‘ridiculous’ deadlines for financial breaches this season.

Forest are scheduled to begin their hearing with an independent commission shortly after being charged with breaching Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules in their 2022-23 accounts.

Under new Premier League fast-track regulations, the hearing is intended to complete by the end of the 2023-24 season.

As revealed by Football Insider, Paperwork from Everton’s points deduction appeal reveals that Forest will face a points deduction this season.

Forest will have the ability to challenge any judgment similar to Everton — the Toffees successfully lowered their initial 10-point deduction down to six.
