Right now, the New York Jets quarterback sitting is a complete mess. That has actually been the case since Joe Namath. To get the franchise to the Super Bowl, the Jets are counting on Aaron Rodgers to be healthy this season.
But the Jets can put an end to their Zach Wilson experiment. The organisation allowed Wilson to pursue a trade this summer, according to general manager Joe Douglas. Before determining whether cutting Wilson is the wiser course of action, the Jets will need to spend the upcoming weeks trying to find a trading partner.
Wilson may be interested in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Wilson’s natural landing place would be the Las Vegas Raiders, according to CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin:
“They need a quarterback, and Wilson would at least give Aidan O’Connell more competition at the position even if he’s not the right player. That is, of course, if the new administration doesn’t put out a lot of effort to either trade for a player like Justin Fields or leave the first round of the 2024 draft with a new signal-caller.
Wilson would be somewhat acquainted with the ideas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams was accustomed to from his time with the Green Bay Packers, having operated under Rodgers’ offence the previous season. It would be interesting to watch a Wilson-to-Adams relationship develop in Las Vegas the following season.

There is, however, a difficulty with any deal involving Wilson because the team has essentially labelled the fourth-year player as a bust in the draft.
The Jets owe him $5.4 million for the last year of his rookie contract and have a $11.1 million cap charge for 2025, as was previously mentioned on GH. According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports, the Jets would need to give Wilson and a draft pick to a team in order to save the $5.4 million they owe him through 2024.
Giving up a player and a draft selection for no player or pick in return is usually not the best thing to do, but the Jets may be able to get some aid this season as they fully commit to Rodgers by saving $5.4 million.

Wilson’s large final year of his rookie deal would earn the Raiders a Day 3 pick and allow the young quarterback to contend for a starting position in a more secure environment the following season.
