Celtic Will ‘Try to Sign’ Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool
Celtic have set their eyes on acquiring Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher before the transfer window reopens.
Celtic are attempting to sign Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer, according to transfer source Dean Jones. The Liverpool star is open to a new challenge for a specific reason.
Brendan Rodgers, the manager of the Scottish Premiership champions, is looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper after former England player Joe Hart announced his retirement at the end of the season.
Celtic signed Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn for £3 million from Rapid Vienna in early 2024, but are now looking for a shot-stopper for the 2024/25 season.

Bhoys keen to fight off competition for Kelleher
According to Football Insider, Celtic are eager to sign Kelleher when the transfer window reopens in the summer, but they may struggle to persuade him to move north of the border after he has also piqued the interest of the Premier League following his impressive recent performances.
According to reports, the Republic of Ireland international, who helped Liverpool win the Carabao Cup for the sixth time in his career, was courted by Nottingham Forest in January. However, he will not be allowed to leave Anfield without a significant fee being offered.
Keleher has played less than 600 minutes in the Premier League this season due to being behind Alisson Becker in the pecking order. However, statistics show that he might be a suitable backup for Hart as he is a reliable goalkeeper when needed.
Celtic must invest heavily to compete with Liverpool’s £20 million offer for Kelleher, who won the Carabao Cup final. However, Rodgers has been interested in him for a long time.
Jones, a respected reporter, previously told GIVEMESPORT that the Bhoys made contact with the 25-year-old’s current employers to discuss a potential deal last year. Although the move to Parkhead did not happen, Jones insisted that the transfer target would not settle for playing second-fiddle on Merseyside for much longer.
Kelleher’s £10,000-per-week contract expires in the summer, and Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp will step down at the end of the season. Celtic may see the upcoming transfer window as an opportunity to take advantage of this.
