Everton takeover exclusive: Wyness exposes two factions willing to hijack deal.
Former Everton chief Keith Wyness has claimed that two US companies are poised to hijack the takeover agreement with 777 Partners.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now operates a football consultancy advising elite clubs – said that he believes a takeover coup will take place.
Miami-based investors 777 Partners sealed a £500million buyout deal with Toffees chairman Farhad Moshiri in September.
They are still awaiting approval from the Premier League to finalize the purchase with questions rising about their capacity to find cash.
As disclosed by Football Insider, 777 Partners are poised for crunch talks with the Premier League as the takeover enters the final stages.

When asked whether he feels the Everton takeover will be hijacked, Wyness said: “I do believe it’s going to happen.”
“Two major American sporting groups have been linked so far.“
“But again, I think it would be difficult to see how they can really engage with Everton at the moment while 777 still have this exclusive agreement in place.
“That’s the problem any other potential buyer is going to have – they’ll be working off probably old numbers or things that they can put together in the media and maybe just sort of declare an interest at some stage.
“But I would imagine it’s difficult for Everton and Moshiri’s advisors to be able to actually interact with potential buyers just yet.“
