Today, Everton plays West Ham United in the Premier League with the goal of winning for the first time since 2024.
In their most recent match, Lewis Dunk’s late header on the South Coast gave ten-man Brighton a point, causing Sean Dyche’s team late agony.
The Hammers’ play has also been inconsistent since the start of the year; prior to their victory over Brentford on Monday night, they had given up eleven goals in their previous three games.
Michael Antonio, the striker for West Ham, spoke with confidence prior to the game.
Speaking on the BBC’s The Players channel podcast, Antonio sees only three points for the opposition.
Every time we’ve played against them, the game has proven to be challenging. He is very strict under Sean Dyche and seldom gives up goals,” he stated.
“We have won most of our games when Lucas [Paqueta] has been on the team, and I feel confident that the gaffer has his main team back,” he continued.
“That only seems to be three points to me.”
Prior to the game, Everton will have to deal with a few injury concerns. The decisions on Idrissa Gana Gueye and Adama Onana will be decided at the last minute.
Now, yet another of Everton’s younger players has begun to raise doubts.
Lewis Dobbin’s injury is questionable before West Ham United’s match.
The Daily Mail (March 2, page 6) reports that Lewis Dobbin is also questionable for Saturday’s game.
Although the jet-heeled 21-year-old winger has only started one Premier League game, he has made plenty of appearances as a substitute recently.
In December 2023, Dobbin scored in Everton’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea, and Dyche showered him with accolades following the match.
It’s a challenging game for him as a novice because it’s a peculiar genre. so he can accomplish his goal. It was really nice to see how genuine his response was. Don’t do any foolish dancing. He told Sky Sports, “Everyone runs over in an authentic manner, and I am absolutely delighted for that.”
Providing Dobbin with more chances would be wise given Everton’s problems in front of goal.
He has the strength and speed needed to compete in the Premier League, as well as an eye for goal, as seen by his time on loan at Derby County.
