‘It’s very simple’ – Thomas Frank fires blunt message to Premier League after Everton appeal

Thomas Frank, the manager of Brentford, has pleaded with the Premier League to move swiftly and remove points from teams that violate Financial Fair Play regulations before the end of the current campaign. After an appeal, Everton’s penalty for breaking Premier League financial rules was lowered from ten points to six on Monday. In November, the club received a 10-point deduction right away for violating the profit and sustainability rules (PSR) throughout the three-year period ending in 2021–2022.

Sean Dyche’s team, however, dropped from 17th to 15th place in the Premier League standings as a result of the deduction. However, following charges in January for alleged breaches in their 2022–2023 accounts alongside Nottingham Forest, the Goodison Park team now has to wait with bated breath. The matter needs to be heard by April 8th, but if there is an appeal, the decision could be made after the end of the season. Additionally, Frank has demanded that the Premier League remove points before the season ends.

“It appears likely that Everton and Nottingham Forest will lose points,” he said. “They’ll contest that, but it’s crucial that we find out what that is before the season is out.”It’s fairly straightforward in my opinion: you breach the rules, and you get punished. Discussion comes to an end. That is the world of football and the civilization we inhabit.

“The Premier League must determine when point deductions can be made public prior to an appeal being filed. Before the season ends, we must then have that response. Frank’s team is currently behind the Blues in the standings going into this weekend’s home match against Chelsea, but he maintains that the uncertainty has not damaged his Bees team.
