Celtic plan to accept Liel Abada offer – sources.
Football Insider has received information from sources that Celtic is now open to considering bids for Liel Abada, a winger, during the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old is reportedly uneasy in Parkhead because of significant personal problems relating to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that there is a sense among the team that Abada wishes to leave.
When the window opens this summer, it’s unlikely that the Hoops will get in his way, according to sources.
But Celtic is eager to get back the £3.5 million they had to pay to sign the 2021 Scottish Premiership winner who had won two times.
Celtic wants a sum of at least £3.5 million before letting Abada depart.
With the war breaking out in his native Israel less than a month after Abada’s September contract renewal, the Hoops are reportedly in a solid position to get that valuation.
Despite Celtic’s caution against it, the largest Parkhead fan organization, the Green Brigade, has a history of flying Palestinian flags during games.
This 2023–24 season, Abada has made 11 appearances in all competitions, with one goal and one assist. However, he has not played in the last three Scottish Premiership games.
Brendan Rodgers, the head coach of the Hornets, has stated that the winger is “not in the right frame of mind to play.”
Since joining Celtic three years ago, he has appeared in 112 games, scoring 29 goals and dishing out 22 assists.
