Adam Idah, a star player for Norwich on loan, will cost Celtic a lot of money if they want to sign him permanently, sources informed Football Insider.
Since arriving on loan earlier this month, the 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international has made an impression on club management.
In his four Scottish Premiership games thus far, Idah has scored four goals, including a brace that helped Celtic overcome Motherwell on Sunday, February 25.
Although the forward’s loan agreement expires in May at the end of the 2023–24 season, both fans and analysts are speculating that he might sign a long-term contract with the Hornets.
On Tuesday, February 27, Football Insider disclosed that Idah would be amenable to signing a full-time contract with Celtic over the off-season.
It’s thought that the 20-cap Republic of Ireland international is drawn to the possibility of playing Champions League football.
However, Football Insider has learned via a reliable source that parent team Norwich will demand a high transfer fee in order to let go of Idah, who has been at Carrow Road since 2017.
Just last year (2023), he inked a new contract with the Championship team that would extend until June 2028.
Although he had seven goals in 34 appearances during the first half of the season, David Wagner’s team was not using the forward on a regular basis.
Brendan Rodgers has one of his strongest weapons in Idah as his Celtic team attempts to turn the tide against Rangers and reclaim the Scottish Premiership title.
With two Old Firm games left in the 2023–24 season, the Hoops sit two points behind their fierce rivals.
