Sydney van Hooijdonk opens up on Celtic transfer speculation.
Sydney van Hooijdonk, a striker for Norwich City, has discussed the Celtic transfer rumors that surfaced last month and were put to rest when the
team chose to acquire Adam Idah.Idah was able to transfer to the Scottish Champions because of van Hooijdonk, who was strongly linked both in the January transfer window and the summer before.
Even if he is happy that he moved to Norwich, Pierre’s son SVH acknowledged that he did not talk with Celtic this season but that he is a fan of the team.
Sincerely, I didn’t communicate with Celtic during the winter. You see a lot of things, but I didn’t talk to them this winter. Yes, there was a little bit last summer, van Hooijdonk admitted to Pink Un, an East Anglian outlet.
“They are a great club, and I love them too, but it was great to have the championship and to have a team in the playoffs.”
“I’m really happy to be here because this league is at a higher level than that league.”
Since joining David Wagner’s team on loan with a buyout option, the Dutchman has only made three substitute appearances and is still without a goal.
Van Hooijdonk has twice been offered to Celtic; however, they have declined this offer in favor of pursuing other goals.
Idah has shown to be a valuable addition to the team, contributing five goals and one assist in six games. Idah has not yet been given a buy option by the club, but if he keeps up his impressive play, Celtic will try to sign him permanently.
