Sean Dyche breaks silence on Everton FFP appeal verdict as Nottingham Forest await fate

Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as the Reds face Premier League charges after being accused of breaching finance rules

While Nottingham Forest await their fate, Everton manager Sean Dyche is appreciative of the clarity their successful appeal against a 10-point deduction has brought.

This week, Everton’s lengthy wait for a resolution to their penalty for breaking sustainability and profitability regulations came to an end when the sentence was lowered to six points. Dyche is already trying to take advantage of the momentum the appeal judgement has given them, but there is still another case ongoing for an alleged breach in their most recent set of accounts.

Everton has regained four points, moving them up to the top of the Premier League standings. Forest, on the other hand, is still waiting to hear from an independent commission following a January charge from the Premier League. The Reds may be subject to penalties, such as a point deduction, when they appear before the commission next week.

Naturally, we’re happy to have something back,” Dyche added. “You are always avaricious and always want more and more, but we have the four points back because the club’s arguments were heard.”

“We accept that, and it now clarifies the situation, which benefits not just the players but also us. In fact, everyone benefits from it.” We’ve definitely put that on hold now that it’s official; the players are in agreement and a line has been drawn beneath it.

“We approach the remainder of the season with a fresh perspective.”

Although Dyche acknowledged that the players’ protracted wait for a decision had begun to weigh on their thoughts, he still commended them for their ability to stay focused. It does gradually begin to seep in. It took a while for it to happen, to be fair to these athletes,” he remarked.

The players hear all of that as we wait and the noise grows louder and louder, asking, “When’s it coming?,” and I felt that their performance levels have remained quite steady. It’s important to use the league table carefully and avoid treading on it now that it appears different.
