Rangers: Oscar Cortes suffers ‘bad’ injury in 2-1 victory v Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Rangers winger Oscar Cortes may have sustained a severe injury in the 2-1 victory against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, as Four Lads Had A Dream shared.
The Rangers podcast tweeted via their X account during the game that Cortes had gone down gripping his hamstring just before he was replaced by Scott Wright.
Cortes joined the Ibrox club on loan during the January transfer window and was one of the bright sparks of their performance during the 2-1 triumph until he was pulled off.
Writing on X, Four Lads shared: “Cortes down holding his hamstring. Looks a nasty one for him.”
Cortes has drawn some extremely high praise during his short spell at Ibrox, and it now looks as if his loan will be made permanent in the summer, but a hamstring injury will come as yet another blow to the Ibrox club.
The winger turned in an effective display as he looked to make things happen while many of his other teammates struggled as Rangers crept to an eventual 2-1 victory against Kilmarnock in what proved to be a nervy affair.
The result was far from a pretty one, but Rangers won’t be picky about where and how their three points come, as long as they do come, with this title race with Celtic likely to go down to the wire this season.
Taking all three points despite the result on the other side of Glasgow as Celtic won 7-1 against Dundee means Philippe Clement’s side remains two points clear of their Old Firm rivals at the top of the SPFL table.
In other Rangers news, Tom English reacted live on BBC to what happened v Kilmarnock.
