Kilmarnock boss praises three Rangers stars as one did something ‘unbelievable’
Derek McInnes, the manager of Kilmarnock, was left to lament the crucial roles played by Jack Butland,
James Tavernier, and Tom Lawrence as Rangers overcame a 2-1 deficit at Rugby Park on Wednesday.
Two triumphs. Two wildly distinct victories.
On a night when Celtic reached seventh heaven at home against Dundee, these three incredibly hard-

the opening day.

Tavernier’s latest pinpoint free-kick was an equaliser rather than a deficit-reducer.
Tom Lawrence’s instinctive, snapshot winner on the hour mark, meanwhile, ensured that 1-0 became 1-2
within hte space of just four second-half minutes.
Rangers overcome Kilmarnock by coming back.
“Butland’s save at 1-0 merely serves to highlight his superiority. In the context of the game, that is a
pivotal time for the Rangers,” groans McInnes.
The former manager of Aberdeen lauded his team’s performance in Ayrshire and also praised the
tenacity and fighting spirit of Clement’s visitors.
“I’ve seen Tavernier’s free kick again, and I like how high he can get it.” Superb,” continues McInnes.
“He has consistently performed that for the Rangers. Thus, there are two instances.
