‘It would be huge’ – Chris Sutton predicts score of Everton clash v West Ham

Everton will take on West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday (2 March) at Goodison Park looking to pick up their first win in 2024.

The Toffees have a huge game ahead of them, and they will be happy to recover four points after their November appeal against the ten-point loss.

As a result, they moved up to the fifteenth spot in the standings, but they haven’t yet declared themselves safe, and there will soon be another hearing. But now that they have clarification, Sean Dyche and his team have some breathing room.

However, West Ham comes into this match fresh off a 4-2 victory over Brentford in their previous encounter. After eight games in all competitions, the Hammers eventually got back on track.

The Hammers have welcomed back Lucas Paqueta as well, and they appear to have changed their appearance.

Chris Sutton believes the Toffees will be “perfectly fine” at the end of the season and that they should win at home. He thinks the Toffees will win 1-0.

According to Sutton, who spoke to BBC Sport, “Everton must be absolutely delighted to get back four of the 10 points that they had deducted, and that sets them up nicely for this game.”

“It would be quite beneficial for them if they could do that by ending their protracted league winless streak, which dates back nine games to December 16th.

If there hadn’t been a deduction of points, we wouldn’t have discussed their potential for a drop. Since it has been decreased, they are doing great.

Lucas Paqueta, who had been sidelined for six games due to injury, returned for West Ham and immediately made an impression against Brentford. Even though Jarrod Bowen scored a hat-trick in that game, I don’t think he or his squad will continue to play at the same level.

“Everton is my favourite here, even if I keep betting against them at home. Although their previous manager David Moyes has triumphed at Goodison with West Ham once before, in 2021, I have a suspicion that he will come away empty-handed this time.

Massive game for both sides

In their previous encounter with Brighton, Everton ought to have prevailed. Despite Jarrad Branthwaite’s incredible goal, Lewis Dunk eventually equalised. Dyche may make a few lineup changes for this match as Everton looks to pull away from the competition.

After a difficult period for the Hammers, some supporters called for Moyes to be fired. Although Moyes has performed admirably for the team, it is uncertain if he would agree to a new contract.

Although the environment has grown poisonous in recent weeks, if the Hammers are able to win games on a regular basis once more, everything might change.
