‘He’s a danger’: Wayne Rooney praises Nottingham Forest star

Wayne Rooney has lauded Anthony Elanga after Nottingham Forest were cruelly dumped out of the FA Cup last night.

The Reds lost 1-0 with Casemiro scoring against the Reds again to send United through to the last eight.

So, what has Rooney said about Forest winger Elanga? Let’s take a closer look…

What Wayne Rooney said about Forest star Anthony Elanga

In any case, Rooney made his debut as a pundit last night, and while he used to work for Derby, he did say some nice things about Forest.

One of such arose when talking about Elanga and the genius he displayed in the game’s opening half.

Unfortunately for the 21-year-old, Bruno Fernandes’ careless challenge gave United the opportunity to win the game with a late free kick.

Still, he gave a strong performance all around, and the Red Devils may be regretting allowing him to depart.

Actually, Rooney thinks that Elanga, a star for Forest, was displaying a quality that he wishes Marcus Rashford would display for United.

“That’s what we want to see from Marcus Rashford in a Manchester United shirt,” he stated in real time on BBC One. He poses a threat to Forest from the left.

We discuss Forest, and the hiring of outsiders is criticised for being haphazard and disorganised.

But Forest has a player in Elanga who, at £15 million, appears to be a fantastic investment.

The 21-year-old is a young player with plenty of speed, and he has already contributed 12 goals this season.

It was always going to be difficult for Elanga to enter Forest and get beyond the association with the Tottenham-sold Brennan Johnson.

He is now, however, sincerely asserting that he is superior to the deceased celebrity, and long may his current form last.

It’s fascinating that Rooney wants Rashford to resemble Elanga more, and United must be regretting their decision to trade to Forest.
