Everton: ‘Farcical’ 777 Partners attacked as ‘Damaging’ takeover news surfaces at Goodison.
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and 777 Partners’ decision to extend their time frames over their buyout is “hugely damaging” to the Toffees, according to The Esk.
The Miami-based investment business still hasn’t obtained approval from the Premier League to complete their acquisition at Goodison Park, despite the process now entering the 24th week of what was expected to be a 12-week process.
Despite the delay, both Moshiri and 777 have remained vocally hopeful that the purchase will be approved, an assumption that Everton financial specialist, The Esk has termed “simply farcical”.
Writing on X on Wednesday (28 February) he said: “LOL at the “news” 777 & Moshiri have extended their time frames. It’s always another fortnight, another fortnight… Rinse and repeat.
“Simply farcical but on a serious note hugely damaging to our club.”
Will 777 Partners ever complete its takeover of Everton and end Farhad Moshiri’s tenure?
Nearly all reports that have emerged concerning 777 Partners since they announced that they had reached a deal to acquire Moshiri’s controlling share in Everton have been bad, but the American group has consistently tried to put a good light on things.
In reality, the Toffees have been left in limbo for months now without knowing where they stand financially and Sean Dyche’s side has had to rely on loans from a company that may not even be able to complete their purchase.
Everton have taken a step in the right way now that they have had four of their initial 10-point deduction restored following their appeal, but they will just be delaying relegation if they aren’t taken over sooner rather than later.
Hopefully, this “hugely damaging” 777 Partners offer will come to an end sooner rather than later and the Toffees will finally receive some type of clarity from the Premier League to signal whether or not they will have new owners.
In other Everton news, Simon Jordan has attacked Andy Burnham for his “absurd winterings” in a new admission regarding the Toffees appeal.
