Derek Ferguson drops contract verdict on ‘excellent’ Leon Balogun, Philippe Clement likes him

Derek Ferguson claims that Leon Balogun will be leaving Rangers this summer, even though Philippe

Clement is obviously fond of him.

Journalist Joshua Barrie of Rangers Review stated on February 22 that he would be shocked if the

seasoned center back signed a new contract at Ibrox, given his present one expires at the end of June.

Although the 35-year-old has made 11 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season since

returning from QPR in the summer, Clement has favored pairings with John Souttar and Connor

Goldson.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, former Rangers player Ferguson called Balogun “excellent” and

“fantastic,” but he also acknowledged that Clement might move him on to create room for new players in

the summer.

“We’ve been really pleased with him, and the manager seems to think the same way.” Once more, I

believe he’s improving,” he remarked.
