Brendan Rodgers heaps praise on ‘outstanding’ Celtic star after Dundee mauling
Yang Hyun-Jun received high accolades from Brendan Rodgers after Celtic defeated Dundee 7-1 at Parkhead. The Hoops, who had blown Tony Docherty’s team away with an amazing 6-0 lead at the interval, went on the rampage, with seven different players finding the net. The Scottish champs gave a performance that hoops fans had been clamoring for the entire season—they were back to their fluid best.
Even though all of the players contributed significantly that evening, Rodgers was particularly happy with South Korean winger Yang’s performance, which showcased his growth after he outplayed Dees full-back Owen Beck. In the first game, the young wing back for Dundee played him pretty well, so it’s really wonderful for him, according to Rodgers.
This season, he was too strong for him to overcome. Thus, this was an excellent opportunity to observe his development. Yang was excellent both indoors and out. He put in a lot of effort for the squad and was intelligent and witty. He also had a certain simplicity to his game at the correct moment.”
After the break, Rodgers gave rookie Daniel Kelly his first Parkhead start, and the midfielder completed a fantastic evening with a goal. “Daniel is a young player that I’ve loved working with since I came back,” the speaker continued. He has this amazing mindset, and he traveled to Portugal with us throughout the preseason. At the age of eighteen, his physical development is evident in his strength, speed, and touch.
“This is just the beginning; Daniel will only become better, and part of the plan is to let these young guys enter and grow. Because of the size of the roster, the younger players are occasionally left out. He serves as an example of how you will benefit when you make space for them to train with you.
