What Newcastle really feel about Howe’s future after Nagelsmann update emerges

Newcastle United have underperformed this season and are likely to miss out on European football this season.

Eddie Howe’s team is now battling mightily with consistency as they sit 10th in the Premier League standings. If they win the FA Cup, though, they might cap off the season with a victory.

The Magpies need to focus on winning the championship because they are only one game away from Wembley.

According to reports in the German media, Newcastle may try to fire Howe in the summer and bring in Julian Nagelsmann in his place.

Currently, the 36-year-old is in charge of the German national squad. It’s hardly surprising that a lot of elite teams will try to sign him because of his outstanding work at both RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich.

But Newcastle doesn’t intend to sever ties with Eddie Howe. Journalist Craig Hope claims that the Magpies think Howe is part of the long-term vision and the perfect man to lead the team ahead. The team is getting ready for a hectic summer.

Declared one more today that Eddie Howe is the player Newcastle has faith in and will invest in for the long run. I have a lot of things planned for this summer,” Hope posted on X.

“This follows earlier German press reports of interest in Germany’s top executive, Julian Nagelsmann.”

Newcastle must stick with Howe

The previous season, Howe led the Magpies to a top-four finish. It’s been a different tale this season. However, a wider viewpoint is required.

Newcastle has been without multiple first-team players owing to injuries for the entire season. While that is truly regrettable, it is out of Howe’s control.

The big-money AC Milan acquisition, Sandro Tonali, was also suspended for the full season. In addition, the Magpies must sell some players in order to balance the books because they are treading carefully when it comes to PSR regulations.

Without a doubt, Nagelsmann is a wonderful manager, but Newcastle has to give Howe another season to turn things around. Knowing the circumstances surrounding his time spent working with the team, it would be unjust to fire him in the summer.
