Rangers: Borna Barisic destroyed live on BBC Scotland after Kilmarnock clash

Lee McCulloch has targeted Borna Barisic, a defender for Rangers, during Wednesday’s Scottish Premiership matchup with Kilmarnock.

In the first five minutes, the Croatian international had the opportunity to whip the ball into a dangerous area, but he overhit it to no one.

Minutes after the home team scored the first goal through a penalty kick, McCulloch was not pleased as the Bears went on to win 2-1.

Speaking in real time on BBC Radio Scotland on February 28, McCulloch expressed his disbelief at what he seen at Rugby Park in the early going.

Recalling the free kick, he remarked, “That was a really poor delivery” [19:49].

“I really believe that Barisic added it; that delivery was awful.”

Not good enough for the Rangers, Borna Barisic?

Barisic had an unexpected start to the game and shared some of the blame for John Lundstram’s penalty call.

The defender fumbled possession and attempted to win a foul, giving one away instead, which allowed the Rangers to launch a fast onslaught on the goal.

Since taking over, Philippe Clement has regularly rotated his team, and while it has proven effective, Barisic will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on him.

Another alternative who hasn’t made a mistake since the Belgian took over is Ridvan Yilmaz, so it wouldn’t be shocking if he solidified his position following this disaster.

Given that Clement isn’t afraid to take risks and that his contract with Glasgow is about to expire, it will be intriguing to watch if there is a change of leadership at left-back.

That is definitely one to watch.
