Philippe Clement makes “one time” reminder as Rangers boss lays Kilmarnock marker

Philippe Clement makes “one time” reminder as Rangers boss lays Kilmarnock marker

For Rangers right now, every game is important, and they take on Kilmarnock in what may prove to be a crucial encounter in the race for the championship.

As always, Rugby Park will be a tough place to visit when Gers boss Philippe Clement makes his debut; Derek McInnes understands how to put a team together.

The manager is well aware of Kilmarnock’s threat, but as usual, his entire attention is on his Rangers team and what it can accomplish.

Rangers’ trip to Kilmarnock will be a tough challenge.
It goes beyond the pitch.

Both teams use the same surface at Auchenhowie, and the Rangers have their own. That is how things are.

Kilmarnock boasts a few talented players.
Make a strong case, though, for Lawrence Shankland, who has the finest team besides Rangers and Celtic.

Gary Mackay-Steven, Greg Stewart, Matt Kennedy, Danny Armstrong, Kevin Van Veen, and Danny Armstrong are all players that may cause issues given the opportunity.

a nice balance between speed and experience.

In his pre-game press conference, Clement expressed his knowledge of what to anticipate and his admiration for the squad now occupying the fourth spot in the Scottish Premiership:

“The lads are determined and aware that they must change to accommodate new situations. When it comes to their methods, they also respect the opposition.

“If my calculations are correct, they have won three, drawn one, and lost two of the six Old Firm matches this season.

“Only once”Ibrox, that one, against us, the one I remember.

It’s one of those dangerous moments, but we’re going there with all of our attention.”

Clement is correct; they have to have the best record of any team in recent memory when playing the Old Firm.

They’re particularly hard to crack at Rugby Park.

Rangers, however, have shown that they are no pushovers after winning 10 straight games in 2024, so Clement’s joke about the last time the two teams played was not out of place.

These Rangers are not the same.

It is Clement’s responsibility to make sure Rangers respect Kilmarnock but worry about us, not the other way around.
