‘It’s going to be brilliant’ – controversial pundit makes HUGE Celtic and Rangers title race prediction
A well-known commentator has made a significant prediction about Celtic and Rangers’ race for the Scottish Premiership title.Chris Sutton, a former striker for Celtic who is now an outspoken pundit, has given his assessment of the Scottish Premiership title race. Given the outstanding work that Phillipe Clement has done, he believes that Rangers should be considered the “favorites” to win the trophy at the end of the season, but he also believes that it will “go to the wire.”With 11 games remaining in the 2023–24 season, Rangers lead their fierce rivals by two points and have a better goal differential. Although it appears like the Light Blues are winning the majority of the match, there are still two Old Firm derbies remaining, so anything can happen.Sutton made 130 league appearances for Celtic between 2000 and 2006, during which he scored 63 goals. During his career, Sutton also played for Chelsea, Blackburn Rovers, and Aston Villa.
What did Chris Sutton say about the 2023/24 Scottish Premiership title race?
Sutton stated in an interview with Sky Sports: “Since Phillipe Clement joined the team, Rangers have been so, so excellent. They play with an unshakable trust in themselves. They can be rather blunt at times, in my opinion, but the players all have a great understanding of their jobs and responsibilities. As they have throughout the season, the Celtics are playing in fits and turns, so you never know which team will step up. They haven’t always been reliable.Rangers are currently the favorites [in the championship race]. Naturally, there are still two [Old Firm] derby matches left, which could significantly impact the winner in the end. At the weekend, Celtic overcame Motherwell late in the game because they had to, they needed to stay within touching distance of Rangers. But it’s going to go the wire, it’s going to be brilliant and there’s going to be loads of twists and turns.”
