‘Hopefully’: Club interested in Nottingham Forest gems…

Morecambe boss Ged Brannan is hoping Nottingham Forest can become a senior affiliate to the EFL outfit in the future.

The manager has been speaking to the Lancaster Guardian – with Morecambe currently having Julian Larsson on a temporary deal.

So, what has Brannan said about Morecambe and the relationship with Forest? Let’s take a closer look…

Ged Brannan wants Nottingham Forest players on loan

It seems that Brannan, the manager of Morecambe, is eager to make sure that Forest and him have a strong working connection.

To assist Larsson catch up in men’s football, the Shrimpers loaned him out for the rest of the season in January.

Earlier in the season, it was alleged that other EFL teams were keeping an eye on Forest youth players while they competed for the EFL Trophy.

Dale Taylor, Alex Mighten, and Brandon Aguilera also left, although Larsson was able to get a relocation.

Brannan now thinks that Morecambe can sign other Forest players in the future and that this deal can be the beginning of a really positive partnership.

“We’ve got a really good relationship with Nottingham Forest so, hopefully, we might be able to get a couple of their players,” he said to the Lancaster Guardian.

Forest having Morecambe as feeder club would be ideal

From a Forest perspective, this appears to be an excellent idea in our opinion.

It will be more difficult for the younger players to acquire consistent playing time in the first squad now that the Reds are in the Premier League.

More players will therefore have to go out on loan in order to gain regular playing time and a better understanding of men’s football.

Morecambe is presently chasing the play-offs this season and is having a really successful season.

In his six Shrimper outings, Larsson has contributed one assist.

Regular game time is crucial for him, and the fact that he’s participating might persuade Forest to use Morecambe once more in the upcoming campaign.
