‘It hurts…’ – Laurence Rabinowitz reacts after Everton appeal verdict, hails ‘Proper Club’

Everton appeal: Super silk Laurence Rabinowitz admits ‘it hurts’ to be a ‘proper fan’.

It is a “privilege” and a “honor” for Laurence Rabinowitz to represent Everton in their appeal against their points deduction.

Following the verdict that cut the sentence down from ten to six, Paul Heron, a lover of Toffees and legal director, sent an email to the Times [10 January] titled “super silk.” Heron called Rabinowitz a “absolute gent” for his response, which Heron then shared on Twitter on February 26.

After successfully appealing down the severity of the sanction, the KC lauded Everton and the fanbase, describing them as a “proper club” with “genuine” fans.

“To be able to represent your wonderful Club has been an absolute privilege and indeed an honor,” stated Rabinowitz. A respectable team with real, sincere, and enthusiastic followers.

“I hope your granddaughter has the same opportunities to see accomplishment as you have had throughout the years, and that she finds happiness and fulfillment (as well as maybe a little less sadness) than you had.

I worry that being a true fan will inevitably cause at least some grief. When things don’t work out, it hurts.)

After reducing the points deduction, Laurence Rabinowitz commends Everton supporters.

After his efforts to keep Everton out of the relegation zone, the majority of Evertonians will already hold the club’s legal counsel in high regard, and his remarks after the ruling are sure to only solidify that opinion.

He will undoubtedly have solidified his place in the hearts of the fan base if he can deliver similar outcomes during the upcoming profit and sustainability hearing this season.

The Toffees’ predicament is a result of a combination of poor management at the club under Farhad Moshiri and poor governance by the Premier League as a whole. It certainly shouldn’t have come to this, but supporters are celebrating legal work in an appeals hearing in the same way they might celebrate a result on the field.

Although the team and Sean Dyche are now (temporarily) relieved that they are back up to 15th place and five points ahead of Luton Town in the drop zone, they are aware that there may yet be more surprises.

At least one significant obstacle has been overcome, and while the result is not ideal, it is still significantly better than it was.
