Int’l coach sent weekly videos of Rangers star to watch – Sky Sports Ibrox News

Rangers: Jack Butland videos sent to England coach every week at Ibrox.

Martyn Margetson, England’s goalkeeping coach, is shown weekly footage of Rangers’ number one Jack Butland to monitor his form.

Sky Sports reported on Tuesday (27 February) that the goalie may be called up to the Three Lions squad.

England will face Brazil and Belgium in international friendly matches later this month as part of their Euro 2024 preparations.

Is Rangers star Jack Butland headed for a shock England recall?

Butland’s return to the England squad would be a huge surprise, considering he last played for the Three Lions in September 2018, more than five years ago.

He has made nine appearances for his country and might reach double figures if Gareth Southgate recalls him.

However, with the presence of Everton star Jordan Pickford in the squad, it is unlikely that the sum would be reached.

With time running out before Euro 2024 this summer, Southgate will want to give players opportunities while also putting together his best XI.

Pickford is still the country’s number one, and he is quite likely to remain so when the event comes around.

Butland’s inclusion in the conversation is a credit to his performance at Ibrox, as the goalkeeper has shone brightly since his move to Glasgow.

On Saturday (24 February), he kept a clean sheet in the Gers’ 5-0 win over Hearts.

Kris Boyd believes the hosts could have scored more goals.
