Goalkeeper confirms transfer interest after Nottingham Forest ‘offer’ rejected.

Current Nottingham Forest news as Jack Butland talks about interest in the January transfer window and the Reds’ “offer”

Despite rumors that Nottingham Forest was interested in signing him, goalkeeper Jack Butland has stated that he had no intention of leaving Rangers in January.

For the second half of the season, the Reds had originally intended to continue with Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos as their starting lineups. When Forest made changes to their goalkeeping staff last summer, the two were hired to long-term contracts.

But both had made several mistakes, and Forest had reconsidered about fortifying between the posts near the conclusion of the January window. On the day of the deadline, they finally signed Matz Sels, one of their many possible targets.

Butland was one of the goalkeepers connected to a transfer to the City Ground; Rangers are said to have rejected an offer. The former England international has now acknowledged that there was interest in him last month, but it was promptly dismissed.

“It was a resounding no,” he stated to The Sun.”This is happening, what do you want to do?,” my agent said.

It was actually deadline day, and we were with the crew. That was it; we had all gone to a team event together. Not even a chance existed.

I’m having fun with it. There is just too much to accomplish and too much work to be done.

Sels moved from Strasbourg to the Reds in exchange for £5 million. Thus far, he has made four appearances and recorded one clean sheet.

Regarding Forest’s goalkeeper hunt following Sels’ arrival, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo stated: “It is not about choices.”

Matz is in this position due of his skill as a goalie. He offers us an additional option, is a regular player, and has experience.

Let’s put an end to the speculating about the thousand names that surfaced, the most of which are untrue.
