Fight Fire With Fire – Kilmarnock Boss Ready For Rangers Test.
Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes believes an in-form Rangers team will visit Rugby Park to exercise their muscles, but Killie must be prepared to fight fire with fire.
Rangers, who are in good form, will face Kilmarnock, who are fourth in the Scottish Premiership, away on Wednesday.
The Gers have scored as much as eleven goals in their last three games, and McInnes anticipates a difficult battle ahead.
However, with the formation of an electrifying atmosphere inside Rugby Park, the manager wants to fight fire with fire and promises that his team will do everything possible to impose themselves on the game.
The Herald Scotland cited McInnes as stating, “It will be bedlam here, there will be a brilliant atmosphere”.
“It is the type of game that players want to be involved in, and it concentrates you; the game requires concentration.
“When you’re playing against players that want to get started right away and flex their muscles, you’ve got to be prepared to fight back.
“And we want to make sure that we try to own that pitch, impose ourselves on the game like we do any home game.”
Killie’s last meeting at the same site resulted in a 1-0 victory over Rangers in August of last year.
Rangers won 3-1 at Ibrox in their only match since then.
