Everton: Sam Allardyce fumes at Premier League live on talkSPORT in points deduction verdict

Everton: Sam Allardyce fumes at Premier League live on talkSPORT in points deduction ruling.

Sam Allardyce has fumed at the Premier League in a new Everton tirade live on talkSPORT after the club were victorious in their appeal against the ten-point deduction.

The former boss suggested that, after Everton were penalized, both Manchester City and Nottingham Forest should also be punished before the end of the season.

Allardyce even went as far as to argue that the profit and sustainability regulations shouldn’t be in existence, and owners should be able to spend as much as they like with their football teams as Everton gained back four points.

Speaking live on talkSPORT [27 February, 08:15], Allardyce ranted: “It’s not so much what’s happening, it’s just the rules. What are the rules? Who’s applying the rules? What do the rules mean? How much do football clubs have to prepare themselves?

“If I was a billionaire and I wanted to buy a football club for my pleasure, with my money, I want to buy it and I don’t want to be restricted with what I want to invest.

“With Everton – why do it in season? Why not do it out of season? What’s going to happen to Manchester City? What’s going to happen to Nottingham Forest? They have to do that before the end of the season now, they can’t only punish Everton and not anybody else. It’s entirely and utterly unfair.”

Sam Allardyce criticizes the Premier League in Everton verdict

The Premier League have opened themselves up to lots of criticism over the current issue at Goodison Park, and Allardyce has now become the latest high-profile name to pile on, challenging the decision-making process at the top.

This has occurred after many of pundits have lambasted the league throughout the process, with Everton the heart of it all — first with the ten-point deduction, then the decision to lower that punishment, and possibly afterwards with a second charge pending.

Everton will have been relieved to earn some points back off their initial punishment which was largely recognized as being unduly harsh, but the current fight with the Premier League looks certain to continue.

Goodison Park has been busier than ever behind the scenes this season, not just with the apparently continual PSR concerns but also the ongoing 777 Partners takeover, with fault laying at the feet of the league.

In other Everton news, Jeff Stelling has reacted to the newest news live on talkSPORT.
