Deadline for 777 Partners buyout has passed

The deadline for 777 Partners to finalize their takeover of Everton has apparently gone. The American investment firm is reportedly getting impatient with the Premier League’s prolonged deliberations regarding their suitability to control the team.

The deadline for the transaction between 777 Partners and Farhad Moshiri, as stipulated in the terms of the sale agreement reached last September, has passed, according to Matt Hughes of the Daily Mail. There is also no indication that a decision regarding whether the company has passed the League’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test will be made anytime soon.

In the previous few months, 777 has given Everton up to £190 million in loans and potential loan clauses in the hopes that the takeover will succeed. However, 777 still faces numerous financial and legal obstacles in the US.
