Simon Jordan reveals brand new Rangers and Celtic verdict in Scottish Premiership.
Simon Jordan feels Celtic are the only team standing in Rangers’ way of claiming the Scottish Premiership title, and is not shocked by Philippe Clement’s influence at Ibrox.
The Gers have opened up a two-point gap at the top of the table, narrowing a large gap between the two that arose during the Michael Beale period.
Rangers have lost just one competitive match under Philippe Clement since his arrival in October, with the title now theirs to lose after the Hoops squandered points against Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on Monday (26 February, 12:07pm), Jordan said: “Rangers seem to be in the groove. But they have yet to overcome Celtic in the league. If they can achieve that, then they can win this league. I look at it, and it’s intriguing.
“Philippe Clement has come in and done a job, and I’m not surprised because he exuded the position that I often say that others haven’t done, which is to look like a person with meaning, like a leader. Rangers have come on like a train.”
Can Rangers pip Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title?
During Michael Beale’s time at Ibrox, the Scottish Premiership title already looked gone, as Celtic surged away with the league.
However, since the arrival of Clement, Rangers have only gone from strength to strength, with their lone setback coming in the Old Firm derby in December.
The defeat to Celtic seemed to have enraged Clement and his team, with the Gers going unbeaten since that time at Celtic Park, completing 10 victories in all competitions.
With upcoming Europa League ties against Benfica, the Gers also have the possibility for even more success and trophies, much to the frustration of Celtic fans, and they show no signs of stopping down.
Even amid a busy schedule, Clement has done excellently to rotate his group while also maintaining positive outcomes, which has helped keep the players fresh, hungry and focused.
As Jordan alluded to, the league title may very much come down to the wire, and be determined by another Old Firm derby. This time, the Belgian will be significantly better prepared to take on Brendan Rodgers.
In other Rangers news, Jack Butland has told which “huge” Ibrox moment wowed him.
