Butland breaks Rangers transfer silence and details agent talks over interest

Speaking out, Jack Butland stated that there was a “straight no” to a January transfer’s interest in his services.

The 30-year-old Rangers goalkeeper, who joined the team on a free transfer from former manager Michael Beale, has been amazing thus far this season. The Premier League’s Nottingham Forest made a move for the former Stoke and Manchester United goalkeeper Butland during the winter transfer window. They were looking to replace manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting goalie, so they sent an inquiry to the Ibrox club.

The Gers declined the offer themselves, but there could only be one reaction from Butland after learning about the approach through his representative.

It was a resounding nay. My representative stated, “This is taking place,
What would you like to do?” Butland asked.

“I said no, and he responded, ‘I agree.'” It was a no from the beginning on all fronts because the club had already said no, and that was that. It was actually deadline day, and we were with the crew. That was it; we had all gone to a team event together. Not even a chance existed.

I’m having fun with it. There is just too much to accomplish and too much work to be done.
