Rangers: Kris Boyd responds as Celtic fans shout at him in Sky Sports studio at Motherwell

Rangers: Kris Boyd answers as Celtic fans shout at him in Sky Sports studio at Motherwell.

Kris Boyd has reminded Celtic fans about the two-point margin Rangers presently retain over their team at the top of the SPL.

Hoops fans were spotted chanting at the former Gers forward in the Sky Sports studio after their last-gasp triumph over Motherwell on Sunday (25 February).

After presenter Eilidh Barbour reported the event, the pundit claimed there are a few happy individuals about the Parkhead club closing the margin from five points down to two, with the Light Blues remaining in the driving seat following their 5-0 success against Hearts on Saturday (24 February).

“There are a few happy people about cutting the gap from five points to two,” added Boyd.

“Are they your mates?” questioned Barbour. “They are shouting something at you.”

Rangers firmly on top despite Celtic victory

It was undoubtedly a much-needed victory for Celtic as two injury-time goals gained them all three points against Motherwell after going in behind at half-time.

The Hoops would have understood they absolutely had to pick up a win, else, it would have been incredibly difficult to bridge the gap against an in-form Rangers side

It’s no surprise to see Boyd get a bit of criticism after what he achieved at Ibrox and because he doesn’t typically talk warmly about the Parkhead club, just like his fellow Sky Sports commentator Chris Sutton doesn’t about the Gers.

Philippe Clement will be feeling very comfortable about his side’s title aspirations following their convincing victory against what was a Hearts squad that came into the game in fantastic form.

It’s another weekend when the Light Blues are coming out of it on top of the SPL standings and it will certainly please one side of Glasgow.
