Jack Butland breaks Rangers transfer silence and reveals agent talks over Nottingham Forest interest

Jack Butland breaks Rangers transfer silence and reveals agent talks over Nottingham Forest interest.

Jack Butland has broken his silence on January transfer interest in his services, maintaining it was a “straight no”.

Rangers’ 30-year-old goalkeeper has excelled this season after joining on a free transfer from former manager Michael Beale. Nottingham Forest, looking for a new goalkeeper for manager Nuno Espirito Santo, contacted former Stoke and Manchester United stopper Butland during the winter transfer window.

Gers said no, but when Butland was informed of the offer by his agent, there was only one possible response.

“It was a straightforward no. My agent said, ‘This is occurring, what do you want to do?'” Butland explained.

“I responded ‘No’, and he said ‘I agree’. The club had already said no, so it was a no on all fronts from the start, and that was that. We were actually with the team, and I believe it was deadline day. We were all out at a team event, so that was all. There was not even a chance.

“I am liking it. There is too much to do and too much left to do.”
