Wyness calls the incredible £450 million boost for Everton “good news.”

According to former Everton manager Keith Wyness, the team will save £450 million on their brand-new, cutting-edge stadium.

The 66-year-old, who ran a football consultancy advising elite clubs after serving as CEO at Goodison Park from 2004 to 2009, stated it would be a “completely different picture” for the Toffees if they were “stuck” at their old ground in future years in an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

The 52,888-seat stadium that Everton will build, which is estimated to cost approximately £750 million, is anticipated to be finished in late 2024, in time for the Merseysiders to move in for the 2025–2026 season.

Wyness has already stated, in an exclusive interview with Football Insider, that the new stadium will be “spectacular” and boost the team’s earnings by £50-£60 million annually.

Wyness calls the £450 million stadium savings “one big positive” for Everton.

Everton, who has been fined points for their first infraction and accused with two violations of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules, is facing financial instability as they begin building.

Wyness stated on the Insider Track podcast of Football Insider:

The good news is that, in comparison to current costs, the stadium’s construction will be reasonably priced because to the fixed price contracts that were established.

“You’re looking at an expenditure of £1.2 billion to look at a project like this now.

According to what I gather, the price will be less than £800 million, most likely closer to £750 million.

“There is already a more valuable asset. That’s a significant plus.

“It would be a whole different story if we were stuck at Goodison Park with our debts.”
