Dan Ballard has been identified by Everton as a possible Jarrad Branthwaite successor should he decide to leave the team this summer.

Dan Ballard may prove difficult for Sunderland to hold onto past the summer transfer season as Everton looks to acquire the center back.

Everton is considering a transfer for Dan Ballard.

Whether they make it out of the Premier League this season or not, the Toffees appear to be in danger of losing standout defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

The left-footer has made a name for himself as one of the best young players in the nation, and several teams are hoping to get him by taking advantage of Everton’s financial predicament. In the event that he does leave, it has been said that the Merseyside team may look to Ballard, who is performing well for Sunderland in the Championship; according to the claim, they may be willing to pay up to £20 million to get the player to Goodison Park.

The summer of 2022 saw the former Arsenal prospect join the Black Cats, and he has since made over 50 appearances for the team.

Dan Ballard has what it takes to compete in the Premier League.

Since coming to Wearside, the Northern Ireland international has proven to be a dependable player because he possesses every quality that a contemporary defender should have. In addition, he will soon reach his prime at the age of 24.

As a result, there was obvious top-tier interest prior to the summer window. Sunderland fan analyst Jack said he always anticipated Ballard to be active because of his skills.

“You’re sad, but you kind of expected to hear that because he’s been that good since the last season.” It’s evident that he’s among the best in the league; he’s excellent with the ball and remarkably mature for his age. Strong, physically fit, and unafraid to put his foot or head anywhere, he excels as a box defender as well.

“I fully anticipated this, and he’s another someone I wouldn’t be shocked to see go this summer. I wish him success if that happens.

“He can be a little reckless at times, so there are certain areas of his game that need work, but overall, he’s unquestionably a center back in the Premier League.” I believe he will have a successful career in the future, and we really can’t stand in the way of that.

“We would need to get a big price for him; I believe you would take that if we heard about £20 million.”

Plans for Sunderland’s summer

In the remaining months of the season, there will undoubtedly be a lot to play for, and Sunderland will believe that a top six finish is still achievable under Mike Dodds.

11 Watford 33 4 44
12 Bristol City 33 1 44
13 Middlesbrough 32 0 44
14 Cardiff City 33 -10 41
15 Birmingham City 32 -11 38

But if they don’t improve, a few players—Jack Clarke being among them—may be let go.

However, Ballard is just as important to the club as the winger, and he has demonstrated enough to suggest he could handle the move up.

We are aware that Sunderland is a team that will offload players in the summertime if the proper deal is made. Thus, the goal is to get Ballard the best possible amount if he decides to go on, and £20 million seems like a reasonable asking price for all involved.

There’s plenty more football to be played before then, but this is definitely one to watch in the summer.
