Rangers: Jack Butland wowed by ‘Huge’ Ibrox moment on BBC.

Jack Butland has revealed when he understood Rangers were a “huge” club after joining the club on a free transfer last summer.

Asked by journalist Tom English on the BBC when that moment was on Saturday (24 February), the 30-year-old revealed it was during Allan McGregor’s testimonial as the game was sold out and there was a “massive” tifo of the former Gers keeper inside Ibrox.

The Englishman stated that he thought to himself “that could be me” as the Light Blues fans showed their love for the Scotsman when he opted to hang up his boots at the age of 41 following 19 years with the club across two spells in Glasgow.

“Was there one moment since you got to the club when you realised ‘oh boy, this is kind of big?’,” asked English?

“Allan McGregor’s testimonial against Newcastle was sold out and there was a massive tifo of him,” added Butland. “So that was something for me to look at and go ‘this is huge’. The affection that they’ve had for him, coming into a place like that, it could be me. You may have a bit of that.”
