Rangers handed twin blow ahead of Ibrox encounter with Hearts as 10-year record revealed.
Rangers have the potential to increase their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table when they take on Hearts.
The Gers welcome the Jambos to Ibrox on Saturday (24 February), having gone top of the rankings after thumping St Johnstone 3-0 last time out.
Philippe Clement’s team are now top of the pile with 64 points, two clear of fierce rivals Celtic, who go to Motherwell on Sunday (25 February).
Hearts meanwhile are the closest team to the Glasgow giants, with Steven Naismith’s men in third place with 51 points.
They may not catch the Gers and the Bhoys, but they can certainly close the distance by taking home all three points at Ibrox.
And there is a very real potential of that happening considering that Hearts are on their best away running victory in over a decade [Sky Sports, 24 February].
Hearts will be more than up for the showdown of Rangers at Ibrox
The great winning run from the Jambos marks a setback for the home side, with the visitors expected to be full of confidence coming into the meeting.
Sky Sports said that the Jambos have, however, lost their last 15 visits to Ibrox, but that may surely work in their favour and against the Gers, with the current Hearts group determined to be the ones to break that immensely worrying pattern.
It is another huge game for Clement and his squad, with the home supporters set to be in full voice given the latest twist in the Scottish Premiership title race.
A Europa League final 16 matchup against Benfica may have just been announced, but for now all focus must be on the league.
In other Rangers news, a “shock” development on goalkeeper Jack Butland is now on the cards at Ibrox.
