Chris Sutton labelled ‘pathetic’ by Robbie Savage for dodging Rangers and Celtic question.
Robbie Savage sarcastically labeled Chris Sutton “pathetic” when he declined to answer a basic question about Rangers and Celtic.
The Gers gained a five-point lead over Celtic in the Scottish Premiership with a 5-0 win over Hearts on Saturday (February 24).
Celtic still have a game in hand against Motherwell on Sunday (February 25), but Rangers are currently well ahead.
Sutton’s numerous responses included: “I think it’s Rangers‘ to lose,” “It appears to be over – or at least Rangers fans certainly believe so,” and “at this point in time, they’re favourites.”
Former Celtic striker Sutton also said: “They’re favourites” and “they’re ahead” in an attempt to avoid pronouncing absolutely that Rangers will win the title.
Rangers extend their lead over Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
To give Sutton his due, he did praise Philippe Clement’s “remarkable” job at Rangers since replacing Michael Beale.
He was also clearly having fun with his responses, however it would be fantastic to rub it in when the title is lifted in a few months.
With a five-goal victory over Hearts, the Gers have established themselves as formidable title contenders.
While there may only be two points at the end of the weekend, the Light Blues show no signs of slowing down right now.
Clement has performed wonders at Ibrox and has rekindled the fanbase’s faith, which is in stark contrast to five months ago when things appeared gloomy.
That is not to assume that every game between now and the end of the season will be won, but Celtic are no match for us right now.
