‘Massive’: Ex-Rangers and Nottingham Forest coach delivers Sunderland job verdict

Mark Warburton was asked about the Sunderland job during a recent podcast appearance.

During a recent podcast appearance, former Rangers, QPR, and Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton was asked if he would consider considering the Sunderland post.

Michael Beale was fired earlier this month, and Mike Dodds will lead Sunderland’s first team until the end of the year. With other candidates being linked, Dodds’ appointment as “interim” has raised questions about the Black Cats’ next summertime move.

When Warburton was asked if he would accept the Sunderland job offer if it came along, he remained ambiguous and instead praised the Wearsiders as a “massive” team on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.

“If you can’t see the potential at Sunderland, as a manager or coach… It’s a massive club. Great fan base. Anyone who gets that job right will be in for a fantastic ride,” Warburton said during the podcast appearance.

Sunderland are next in action against Swansea City at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
